Today, Saturday, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Ms. Morgan Ortagus, U.S. Deputy Special Envoy for the Middle East, on the sidelines of the International Security Conference in Munich, Germany.

During the meeting, the U.S. official conveyed to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council the greetings of His Excellency President Donald Trump, president of the United States, along with his wishes for security, stability, and peace for the Yemeni people.

In turn, President Al-Alimi entrusted the U.S. Deputy Special Envoy with conveying his greetings to President Trump, along with his wishes for good health and well-being, as well as continued prosperity and welfare for the friendly American people.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in Yemen, including an exchange of views on regional issues of mutual interest.

In this context, President Al-Alimi emphasized that the implementation of a two-state solution through support for the Arab Peace Initiative and the end of Iran’s destabilizing role in the region is the only path to achieving stability in the Middle East.

He reiterated that Yemen remains the primary test for altering Iran’s behavior, noting that as long as the international community tolerates the Houthis, Tehran will continue to play a disruptive and escalatory role in the region. Conversely, he stressed that curbing the Houthis is key to shaping broader regional settlements and restoring sustainable security and stability.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
