President Al-Alimi Meets with Bahraini Foreign Minister to Discuss Coordinating Bilateral Cooperation

His Excellency, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, at his residence in Munich, Germany. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 61st International Security Conference, which is set to commence today, Friday.

During the meeting, the Bahraini Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to President Al-Alimi, wishing him and the members of the Presidential Leadership Council good health and happiness, as well as security, stability, and peace for the Yemeni people.

For his part , President Al-Alimi entrusted Minister Al-Zayani with conveying his greetings and those of the Council members to the Bahraini leadership, wishing them continued health, and progress, and prosperity for the brotherly Bahraini people.

The discussion covered latest developments in the Yemen situation and the common stances of both countries regarding regional developments. It also addressed the terrorist threats in maritime corridors and their catastrophic repercussions for living conditions, humanitarian situations, and international peace and security.

Furthermore, the meeting explored ways to enhance various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including activating the Joint Ministerial High Committee, reviving agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries in various fields. Key areas of focus included training, capacity building, and providing additional facilitation for Yemeni nationals residing in Bahrain, as well as the possibility of resuming flights between the two countries.

President Al-Alimi praised the role of the brotherly Kingdom of Bahrain, its leadership, government, and people and their steadfast support for the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership in various regional and international forums.

The meeting also highlighted the steadfast positions of Yemen and Bahrain in support of the Palestinian people's struggle and their right to establish an independent and fully sovereign state in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Shai’a Al-Zindani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Major General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi and Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Mekhlafi, Advisors to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Mr. Loai Al-Eryani, Yemen's Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.
