His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Sunday, with Mr. Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Maabqi, the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, and Mr. Hossam Al-Sharjabi, the head of the Economic Team, to discuss recent economic, monetary, and financial developments, as well as the required measures to mitigate the humanitarian impacts of designating the Houthi militia as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

President Al-Alimi was briefed by the Governor of the Central Bank and the head of the Economic Team on the latest economic updates, particularly regarding fluctuations in exchange rates and essential commodity prices. They also reviewed the ongoing efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militia, supported by the Iranian regime.

The briefing covered current indicators and future projections for public finance performance, the balance of payments, foreign reserves, and recommendations necessary to stimulate economic recovery and support the national currency in light of local, regional, and international developments.

The meeting also discussed measures and guarantees required to control the side effects of designating the Houthi militia as a foreign terrorist organization, particularly on vulnerable social groups. It also focused on reassuring the humanitarian aid community, national investors, and Yemeni expatriates that their relief assistance, commercial activities, and financial transfers will remain unaffected by the control of the terrorist militia.

The President expressed his confidence in the role assigned to state institutions, including the Economic and Humanitarian Crisis Management Committee, chaired by the Prime Minister and involving relevant entities. He emphasized the importance of responsibly managing the sanctions file to achieve national goals and enhance coordinated peace efforts with regional and international partners.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, the Director of the Presidency Office.
