President Al-Alimi Briefed by Prime Minister on Preparations for Ministerial Meeting in New York

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with Council Member Othman Mujalli, held a meeting today, Thursday, with Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Finance, Mr. Salem bin Breik, Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badeeb, and Civil Service and Insurance, Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Wali, to review the ongoing preparations for the international ministerial meeting on Yemen to be held in New York.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council was briefed by the Prime Minister on the government’s preparations for participation in the ministerial meeting, scheduled for the 20th of this month. The meeting aims to provide political and economic support to the government and explore opportunities to achieve the desired transformations at the national level and foster fruitful partnerships with the donor community.

The briefing included the government’s vision for the meeting, its interim and strategic objectives, and the necessary international interventions across various tracks.

During the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed the Council’s support for the government’s participation in the upcoming international conference, in a manner that serves the key priorities of the Yemeni people, the requirements for economic recovery, and comprehensive institutional reforms.

His Excellency praised the efforts of the United Kingdom in preparing for and sponsoring the international ministerial meeting, expressing his hope for genuine support that would restore Yemen’s security and stability and enhance its active presence within the regional and international community.
