President Al- Alimi Meets with Head of Central Organization for Control and Auditing

Today, Sunday, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Judge Abubakr Hussein Al-Saqaf, Head of the Central Organization for Control and Auditing (COCA). During the meeting, Judge Al-Saqaf presented a number of reports on the review outcomes of various institutions and government agencies, along with the Organization's vision for addressing institutional deficiencies, including monetary policy reforms, mitigating financial collapse, and improving the state’s revenue channels.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council was briefed by Judge Al-Saqaf on COCA’s activities regarding the financial, administrative, and organizational performance of state institutions. The briefing also covered the challenges and difficulties facing the organization and the measures needed to enhance its performance and fulfill its legal and constitutional mandates, ensuring effective oversight of public funds and their efficient, economical, and effective management.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the efforts of COCA and its effective contributions to protecting public funds, promoting integrity, and combating corruption through the evaluation and review of the financial and administrative performance of various government units. He instructed the swift implementation of the Council’s recommendations, completion of reviews and evaluations of all ministries and institutions’ accounts, and reporting on entities that fail to cooperate with the organization.

In this context, His Excellency referred to the directives of the Presidential Leadership Council to refer all cases under review by regulatory bodies to the judiciary for appropriate legal action.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council reaffirmed the Council's commitment to advancing comprehensive reforms aimed at improving the efficiency of state institutions. His Excellency stressed the need to complete the necessary measures to enhance the role of anti-corruption mechanisms, including the restructuring of the National Anti-Corruption Authority, supporting the Central Organization for Control and Auditing with additional capacities and competencies, establishing the Supreme Committee for Tenders and Auctions, and establishing the Supreme Authority for Oversight of Government Tenders and Auctions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
