The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting today, Wednesday, chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council, with the attendance of all its members: Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli, and Faraj Al-Bahsani.

The meeting reviewed domestic developments at all levels, primarily focusing on the latest economic, developmental, service-related, living, and humanitarian conditions. These have been exacerbated by attacks from the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia targeting oil facilities and international shipping lines.

The council listened to briefings from its members on their assigned tasks, as well as government reports regarding the implementation of comprehensive reforms, council resolutions, and recommendations aimed at enhancing security and stability, improving living and service conditions for citizens, mitigating the destructive economic measures imposed by the Houthi militia, and ensuring the state’s ability to meet essential commitments, including paying employee salaries and allocating resources for importing basic commodities.

The council praised the outcomes of its recent meeting with ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, France, and the United Kingdom. This meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and key international allies to support peace, security, and stability in Yemen.

The council commended the unified stance of the international community on the Yemeni issue and its steadfast commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Yemeni people, alleviating their humanitarian suffering, and advocating for their aspirations to restore state institutions, development, stability, and peace.

In this context, the Presidential Leadership Council expressed its deep gratitude for the unwavering support of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership. It also called for urgent international support to address the priorities of the current phase, particularly the economic rescue plan and the council’s strategy to address the interconnected challenges caused by the Houthi militia’s continued terrorist escalation and its catastrophic impacts on humanitarian, service-related, and living condition.

The council emphasized the importance of improving public services and resources and advancing reform efforts, including activating mechanisms for transparency and combating corruption, in coordination with regional and international partners.
