Presidential Leadership Council Continues Discussing State’s Public Policies
Riyadh
The Presidential Leadership Council, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, continued today, Sunday, its discussions on political, economic, administrative, security, and military developments. The session was attended by members Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Mujali, and via videoconference, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, and Faraj Al-Bahsani, while Sultan Al-Arada was absent with a prior notice.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Council listened to a briefing on its previous decisions, directives, and the necessary measures and actions required in coordination with relevant authorities. This discussion particularly focused on addressing changes in the exchange rate of the national currency and essential commodities, as well as the actions taken to ensure the government's continued fulfillment of its imperative obligations and to advance its comprehensive reforms supported by both regional and international communities.
The review included reports on the performance of the executive authority over the past period, an update on economic, financial, and monetary indicators, and proposed recommendations to mitigate the impact of the ongoing suspension of oil exports and the rising shipping costs on living conditions due to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist attacks.
The Council discussed the latest military and security developments in light of the escalation by Houthi terrorist militias on several fronts, where they have suffered significant losses in both personnel and military equipment.
The Council praised the high vigilance shown by the armed forces and all military formations in countering the attacks by terrorist militias, successfully thwarting their repeated attempts to return the situation to a full-scale war, while disregarding the prolonged suffering of the Yemeni people.
The Presidential Leadership Council warned against the ongoing exploitation of the Palestinian people's plight and their just cause by the Houthi militias to serve their narrow interests. This manipulation seeks to mobilize more misled citizens to target and attack civilian infrastructure, thereby exacerbating the humanitarian suffering caused by their coup against the national consensus in September 2014.
The council will continue holding meetings throughout the week to complete discussions on the issues on its agenda in light of local, regional, and international developments.
