Aden
Today, Tuesday, His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, left the interim capital, Aden, heading to Saudi Arabia on his way to the Arab Republic of Egypt. His Excellency is visiting Egypt upon the invitation of his brother, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to participate in the World Urban Forum, WUF which will begin next week.
A source in the Presidential Office stated that over the next two days, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council will hold consultations in Riyadh with regional and international actors regarding the latest developments in the local situation. These discussions will also focus on ways to mobilize support for the comprehensive reforms being implemented by the government, as well as addressing the pressing economic challenges and their humanitarian impacts, exacerbated by Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international shipping routes.
The presidential source emphasized the Council and government’s commitment to fully assume responsibility in alleviating the difficult living conditions. They are working on implementing an economic rescue plan, taking necessary measures to contain the budget deficit, and limiting the negative effects of price fluctuations on living standards, while maintaining focus on the critical battle to restore state institutions and end the coup by the Houthi militia backed by the Iranian regime.
The source also highlighted the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and regional and international partners in supporting the state’s efforts to meet its essential obligations, particularly in paying salaries, and securing essential goods and services.
