President Al-Alimi receives UN envoy for Yemen

  RIYADH

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi along with Presidential Council members Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and Sultan al-Erada, received Wednesday UN Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg to discuss with him latest developments in the Yemeni situation and UN efforts for reviving peace in Yemen.

 

In the meeting, the UN envoy briefed the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Presidential Council members on the outcomes of his recent meetings on local and regional levels and chances of using them to pressure Houthi terrorist militia to deal seriously with the initiatives and the regional and international efforts to launch inclusive political process led by the United Nations to meet aspirations of all Yemeni people in restoring State institutions and achieving security and stability.

 

President Al-Alimi confirmed commitment of the council and the government regarding the just and inclusive peace on the bases of the three-internationally agreed upon references and support of the UN envoy's efforts for honoring Security Council's resolutions, especially resolution No. 22016, which aims at protecting international peace and security.

 

The chairman and members of the Presidential Leadership Council confirmed their rejection to the continuous Houthi militia's violations, especially prosecuting kidnapped journalists in conjunction with the UN meetings in Geneva on detainees, in addition to the continuous weapons trafficking to the Houthi terrorist militia in Yemen .
