President Al-Alimi Receives Director of Near and Middle East Department of Foreign Ministry of Germany

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Tuesday, Dr. Tobias Tunkel, the Director of the Near and Middle East Department at the German Foreign Ministry, and Mr. Hubert Jäger, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Yemen.

The meeting touched upon the long-standing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, ways to strengthen them in all fields, and the German and European support required for comprehensive economic reforms and for alleviating the human suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.

The meeting also touched on regional developments, the Israeli aggression on Yemeni territories, the Palestinian people and its repercussions on international peace and security, and the importance of implementing international legitimacy resolutions to achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the region for security, stability and peace.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council briefed the German official on developments of the Yemeni situation, including the good offices led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to launch a comprehensive political process that meets the aspirations of all Yemenis in building a state of equal citizenship and the rule of law.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the stance of the Federal Republic of Germany alongside the Yemeni people and their political leadership, and alleviating their human suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Mohsen Shaye’ Al-Zindani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, the Director of the Office of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council.
