President Al-Alimi Receives USA Ambassador

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today Sunday, Mr. Steven Fagin, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Yemen.

The meeting reviewed the bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, developments in the Yemeni situation, regional developments, and a number of issues of common interest.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council briefed the US Ambassador on local developments, including the economic and administrative reforms led by the Council and the government, and the required international support to strengthen them on various tracks.

The President touched upon the recent violations of human rights by the terrorist Houthi militias, which affected dozens of activists and international and UN employees, continuously undermining the chances of calm and peace, and doubling the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.

His Excellency the President stressed the importance of international pressure and punitive international resolutions against the Houthi militias. He stressed the importance of international community’s fulfillment of its responsibilities in combating Iranian arms smuggling, in accordance with the relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

The meeting was attended by Dr.Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
