PLC reviews executive performance report and general determinants of government’s work program for next stage

Today, Sunday, the Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council, and in the presence of its members, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, and Othman Majli, and via video call Sultan Al-Arada, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Faraj Al-Bahsani.
The meeting was briefed by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak on public finance and national economy indicators, and government performance during the previous period.
The indicators showed the current economic situation, opportunities to enhance monetary and financial stability, improve the state’s access to its public resources, and raise the efficiency of revenue agencies at the central and local levels.
The Prime Minister also presented a general framework for the government’s work program, its priorities in all fields, and the presidential support required on various tracks.
The framework touched upon the government’s plans in accordance with the recommendations of the Presidential Leadership Council in terms of combating corruption, rationalizing spending, optimal use of foreign aid and grants, developing resources, and working to reorganize the relationship with local authorities and the donor community.
The Presidential Leadership Council noted the government’s efforts to reduce the general budget deficit, the state’s continued fulfillment of its imperative obligations, and moving forward with comprehensive reforms supported by the regional and international communities.
In this context, the PLC also praised the support of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for the national economy and basic services, which helped in facing the great financing pressures imposed by the Houthi terrorist attacks supported by the Iranian regime on oil installations and international shipping lines.
The Presidential Leadership Council affirmed its keenness to support the government’s efforts and facilitate the practice of its powers with full powers to alleviate human suffering and achieve the aspirations of the Yemeni people to restore state institutions, security, stability and peace.
On the other hand, the Presidential Leadership Council welcomed the UN General Assembly resolution which approved by an overwhelming majority the eligibility of the State of Palestine for full membership in the international organization.
The meeting renewed the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to the firm Yemeni position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, most notably resisting the Israeli occupation and establishing their independent, fully sovereign national state.
The Council also discussed a number of issues and files on its agenda and took appropriate measures and decisions regarding them.
