President Al-Alimi reviews developments of Hadramaut’s depression

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, made a phone call to the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhout bin Madi, to check on the conditions in the governorate and efforts to confront the effects of the depression that entered the governorate during the past hours. It is accompanied by heavy rains and torrential rains that resulted in human losses, damage to property, agricultural land, roads and infrastructure.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council was briefed by the Governor of Hadhramaut on an initial assessment of the effects of the depression and the progress of relief, evacuation work and emergency teams in various districts.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the president of the Presidential Leadership Council made a telephone call to the Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, to follow up on developments in the depression. His Excellency gave his directions to raise the state of readiness and double the precautionary measures in coordination with various agencies, including military and security agencies, community committees, and regional and international organizations. These measures were taken in order to reduce the effects of the climate situation, and working on more sustainable policies to increase the capabilities of early warning centers and adapt to climate changes, especially in the eastern governorates of the country.

His Excellency the President praised the measures taken by the government and local authorities in the governorates of Hadramaut, Al-Mahra, and Shabwa, whether with regard to guidance and early warning or deploying evacuation and rescue teams, and opening public roads.
