The Presidential Leadership Council discusses the economic situation and the pressing needs of the next stage

Today, Thursday, the Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, Sultan Al-Arada, Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Mojali and through video communication, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, while member of the Council Faraj Al-bahsony was absent with an excuse.

 

The meeting was launched with a briefing by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, on his recent European tour, which included the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union headquarters in Brussels, in addition to his participation in the Munich Security Conference, and official meetings on the sidelines of the important international event.

The meeting discussed developments in the internal situation, in particular indicators of the economic situation in the light of government policies and procedures to deal with the repercussions of the Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and ports, Houthis’ restrictions imposed on private sector activities, the movement of people, goods, and life-saving humanitarian aids.

 

The Council stressed the importance of redoubling the government's efforts to improve rational management of resources, public revenues, deposits and generous development interventions by brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

In this context, the Council praised the Royal generous directives by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to deposit an amount of one billion dollars in the account of the Central Bank of Yemen. This would enhance the capabilities of the Central Bank of Yemen in managing monetary policy, maintaining the stability of the national currency, and thwarting the plans of the terrorist militias who aggravate the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.

 

The Council also praised the stances of the brothers and friends who announced their financial pledges at the United Nations Humanitarian Response Donors Conference, expressing his hope for an optimal use of these pledges, including pumping them through the Central Bank of Yemen, and ensuring that they reach the right beneficiaries throughout the country.

The Council approved the continuation of its meetings to complete the discussion of the topics on its agenda, and to take the necessary decisions in this regard.
