President Al-Alimi receives the Chargé d'Affairs of the Chinese Embassy

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Monday, Chargé d'Affairs of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to Yemen, Shao Zheng.
During the meeting, they discussed the strong bilateral relations that the two friendly countries are celebrating this year on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of its founding. They also discussed the promising aspirations to expand them and push them to broader horizons in various fields.
The President of the Leadership Council was briefed by the Chinese Chargé d'Affaires on his country's humanitarian and development interventions, including the institutional support provided to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the medical and health aid that is scheduled to arrive, tomorrow, Tuesday, to the city of Mukalla. His Excellency was briefed also on the upcoming food aid, with Beijing's readiness to provide the necessary support in the field of solar energy.
The meeting touched upon the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, the course of regional and international efforts to revive the political process, as well as the threats of the terrorist Houthi militias to maritime shipping and freedom of global trade.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the Republic of Yemen and the People's Republic of China, and the firm Chinese position alongside the Yemeni people and their political leadership at various stages.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed the commitment of the Council and the government to a comprehensive and just peace approach based on the terms of reference agreed upon locally, regionally, and internationally, in particular Resolution 2216, considering peace a priority and the highest interest of the Yemeni people.
In this context, His Excellency the President reiterated that supporting the Yemeni government to restore state institutions and vital ports, and strengthening its capabilities to impose security and stability on its entire national territory, is the best way to secure territorial waters and international shipping lines. It is also the best way to push the Houthi militias to seriously engage with the peace efforts that Led by the United Nations, based on the results of the good offices of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
