Riyadh :
The Presidential Leadership Council held a session today, Sunday, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all the Council's members Sultan al-Eradah, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, and via video conference Othman Mujali, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh and Abdurhman al-Mahrami and Farag Al-Bohsoni.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Presidential Leadership Council congratulated the people at home and abroad on the advent of the blessed holly month of Ramadan, asking God to bring it back and their aspirations for freedom, stability, peace and development have been fulfilled. The Council also hailed the Coalition to Support Legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, the armed forces everywhere, on the occasion of the anniversary of Decisive Storm launch, which represented a milestone in the course of joint Arab Gulf solidarity, and the firm response to deter the challenges facing the nation.
The meeting addressed developments in the local situation, and the war escalation of the Houthi terrorist militia, especially in Hareeb, Markha in the governorates of Marib and Shabwa. In addition to its systematic attacks on civilian objects and public roads, including its failed attack that targeted the convoy of Taiz governor, and a number of state and local authority leaders in the governorate.
In the light of these military and security developments, as well as the results of recent negotiations on the file of detainees, abductees, and the disappeared, the Presidential Leadership Council listened to reports from members of the Council, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Tariq Saleh.
The Council also listened to a briefing from the Prime Minister, Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik, on the economic, living situation, and the interventions required to maintain financial, monetary, and commodity stability, and the supply of basic services.
The Council directed the government to complete the implementation of its previous relevant decisions and orders, including improving the efficiency of ports, airports, and land outlets, providing all facilities for the movement of individuals, goods, and private sector activities. As well as redoubling efforts to secure basic services, especially electricity, and adequate Ramadan catering needs.
The Council affirmed that it will take all necessary measures to protect public interests, deter terrorist organizations, move forward on the path of comprehensive reforms, and support the legitimate aspirations of citizens in areas under the force of militias backed by the Iranian regime.
The Council considered that the war escalation of the militias in Marib and Shabwa governorates, and the failed terrorist attacks in Taiz governorate, reflect the miserable situation that this terrorist organization has reached in its hostile approach to peace efforts. It also reflects its evasion from the fair entitlements of millions of citizens who demand freedom, equal citizenship, and opportunities for a decent life in the regions subjected to the malitias by brute force.
The Presidential Leadership Council called on the international community to realize the seriousness of this terrorist escalation, with the continued smuggling of more Iranian weapons to the militias, and its devastating repercussions on international peace and security.
The Council welcomed the results of the recent meetings led by the United Nations, in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross, to implement the detainees’ exchange agreement, stressing in this context the need to ensure that the militias fulfill their obligations to complete the releases on the specified dates, and to enable mediators and the government team to reach all detainees in their affiliated prisons unconditionally.
The Council listened to the minutes of its previous meeting and took a number of orders and decisions regarding the issues on its agenda.
