President al-Alimi receives USAID Assistant Administrator

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Saturday, assistant administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Sonali Korde and US Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin.
The meeting touched upon bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, latest national and regional developments, the international support required for the Yemeni economy, chances of resuming the political process in light the of Houthi terrorist militia’s escalation at various levels.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council reiterated the Council and the government's commitment to a comprehensive and just peace approach, and to support the efforts of the UN Special Envoy to end the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran – backed Houthi militias.
President Al- Alimi praised US humanitarian and developmental interventions, hoping to increase such support and make optimal use of it in improving living conditions of Yemeni people and rebuilding Yemen’s legitimate institutions.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed the Council and the government’s full support for humanitarian community's work against Houthi terrorist militia's measures against employees of US and UK relief agencies and providing all facilities to the humanitarian work from the interim capital Aden and the liberated governorates.
The meeting was attended by Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi and Dr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak, the Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs.
