President Al-Alimi receives Egyptian Ambassador to Yemen

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential leadership Council, received today, Tuesday, Ambassador of Egypt to Yemen Ahmad Farouq, to discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries and latest national and regional developments of mutual interest.
In the meeting, the Egyptian ambassador conveyed to the president of the Presidential Leadership Council the greetings of President El-Sisi, and his wishes for security, stability, and peace to the Yemeni people. For his part , the President of the Presidential Leadership Council asked the Egyptian ambassador to convey his greetings to His Excellency President el-Sisi, wishing him good health and happiness, and for the brotherly Egyptian people further progress and prosperity under his wise leadership.
The meeting discussed latest developments in the Yemeni situation and UN efforts to release a comprehensive political process based on the results of efforts led by brothers in Saudi Arabia and the nationally, regionally and internationally agreed upon references.
The President of the Presidential Council affirmed the Council and the government's engagement with all initiatives aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace, restoring State institutions, and improving living conditions of citizens, including public sector employees in Houthi- controlled areas.
President Al- Alimi praised Egypt’s active role towards the Palestinian people in preventing expansion of the devastating repercussions of the Israeli war, in addition to preventing militias and terrorist organizations to use the Palestinian cause to harm the interests of the region and global economy.
His Excellency the President affirmed the Presidential Leadership Council and government’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent State. Stressing the need for an immediate ceasefire and holding the Israeli occupation accountable over its major violations to the international humanitarian law. The president also rejected forced displacement of Palestinian people and any attempt to liquidate their just cause.
He also welcomed what has been included in the Egyptian- Chinese release regarding latest developments in the Red Sea. The release stressed the importance of reducing tension in the region and the priority of securing international navigation.
In this regard, President Al-Alimi reaffirmed the priority of supporting Yemeni government to restore State institutions and enhancing its capabilities to impose security and stability across national territory as the best way to secure regional waters and international navigations lines, pushing the Houthi militias to seriously engage with UN- led peace efforts.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the distinguished Yemeni – Egyptian relations. He also praised Egypt's honorable position in support of Yemeni people and their republican system in various stages and circumstances, in addition to Egypt's active role within the Saudi-led coalition and efforts of restoring State institutions, peace, stability and development in Yemen.
The meeting was attended by Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, the director of the Office of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council.
