President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council met the Saudi Minister of Defense

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Wednesday, with His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman, Minister of Defense of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Council members Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Abdul Rahman Al-Muharami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Othman Majli.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman conveyed to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and members of the Council the greetings of  Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as their wishes of security and stability and peace for the Republic of Yemen and its people.

For his part, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the members conveyed greetings to the Saudi leadership and their congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and to the brotherly Saudi people on the ninth anniversary of the Pledge of Allegiance.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council and members of the Council highly commended the Kingdom’s positions alongside the Yemeni people, including its initiatives and continuing efforts to renew the truce and launch a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.

His Excellency the President also praised the generous Saudi humanitarian and development interventions in various fields.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Yemeni issue, joint efforts to support the peace process in the country, and a number of topics on the regional and international arenas of common interest.

During the meeting, the Saudi Minister of Defense reiterated the Kingdom’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council, and encouraged the Yemeni parties to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to end the Yemeni crisis under the supervision of the United Nations, in a way that achieves security, peace, stability and development in Yemen.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Yemen, and Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, the Director General of the Office of the Minister of Defense.
