President receives the US envoy

His Excellency the President, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Wednesday, along with Council members Othman Majali and Faraj Al-Bahsani, the U.S. Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking and Ambassador to Yemen Steve Fagin.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the two members of the Council renewed Yemen’s condemnation of the war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian civilians, which yesterday, Tuesday, claimed the lives of hundreds, including children, and wounded in the horrific Israeli bombing of the Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed Yemen's full solidarity and support for the struggle of the Palestinian people, their right to defend themselves, and establish their independent state on the basis of international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

During the meeting, they discussed developments in the Yemeni situation and the good mediation efforts led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to renew the truce and revive the political process on the basis of national, regional and international references.

The meeting also touched on government reforms and the international support required to improve services, living conditions, and reduce the impact of the humanitarian crisis created by the Houthi militias backed by the Iranian regime.

The meeting was attended by Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, the Director of the Office of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council.
