The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council discusses with the Egyptian President the bilateral relations between the two countries, developments in Yemen and the region

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Wednesday, at the Ittihadiya Palace, with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to enhance and develop them at all levels.

 

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council congratulated President El-Sisi on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr and the anniversary of the liberation of Sinai, in which Egypt regained its full legitimate rights on its national soil.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, on behalf of himself and the members of the Council, renewed his great thanks and appreciation for the honorable stance of the Arab Republic of Egypt within the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, alongside the Yemeni people, alleviating their human suffering and achieving their aspirations for restoring state institutions, peace, stability and development.

 

In this context, the President also appreciated the role of Egypt's leadership, government and people in receiving hundreds of thousands of Yemenis seeking a safe haven from the oppression of the Houthi militia, providing them with the necessary care in various fields, including treatment, and scientific and academic rehabilitation.

 

For his part, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed the strength of the historical relations between the two brotherly countries, Egypt's firm stance on the side of Yemen, its people, its political leadership and legitimate institutions, all efforts aimed at restoring security, stability and peace in the country.

 

The meeting discussed the developments in the Yemeni situation, and the good efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to renew the truce, end human suffering, and launch a comprehensive political process based on the Kingdom's peace initiative announced in 2021, and the references agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally.

The two presidents also exchanged views on various regional and international issues, developments, and the coordinated efforts between the two brotherly countries to enhance their bilateral cooperation and face common challenges.
