President of Presidential Leadership Council Praises Continued Progress in Yemeni-Russian Relationships

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council received today, Sunday, Mr. Yevgeny Kudrov, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Yemen.

During the meeting, the Russian ambassador delivered to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council a congratulatory message from President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of Yemen’s National Day, conveying his wishes for stability and peace to the Yemeni people and for further progress and prosperity in bilateral relations.

President Al-Alimi asked Ambassador Kudrov to convey his greetings to President Putin, along with his wishes for continued progress and prosperity to the friendly Russian people.

The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and prospects for enhancing them at all levels, as well as joint efforts to build on the notable progress achieved following the presidential visit to Moscow last year.

President Al-Alimi praised the deep-rooted historical relations between the two friendly countries and the Russian Federation’s supportive stances toward Yemen, its unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He also commended Russia’s important role in the Security Council in support of the aspirations of the Yemeni people and its continued commitment to political solutions based on nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed references.

The President also reviewed the latest national developments and the significant transformations witnessed by Yemeni state institutions during the recent period. He referred to the restructuring of security and military decision-making and the strengthening of coordination among state institutions.

He further highlighted the launch of economic, financial, and service reforms as part of broader efforts to build the desired state model and reinforce its national presence. These efforts are being supported closely by brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as regional and international partners.

President Al-Alimi expressed Yemen’s aspiration for a greater Russian role during the recovery and reconstruction phase, particularly in the sectors of energy, ports, minerals, infrastructure, and technical education. He also stressed the importance of continued economic and political coordination and consultation in a manner that serves regional security and stability and the interests of the two friendly peoples.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
