His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, accompanied by Council Member Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, arrived in the Djiboutian capital today, Saturday. The President is participating in the inauguration ceremony of his brother, His Excellency President Ismail Omar Guelleh, following his re-election as President of the brotherly Republic of Djibouti.

Upon arrival at Djibouti–Ambouli International Airport, the President and the accompanying delegation were received by Djiboutian Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, Yemen’s Ambassador to Djibouti Mr. Abdullah Al-Saqtari, and members of the embassy staff.

A source at the Office of the Presidency told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the President will participate, alongside a number of leaders and representatives of brotherly and friendly countries, in the inauguration ceremony of President Ismail Omar Guelleh following his victory in the presidential elections and the renewal of the Djiboutian people’s confidence in his leadership.

On the sidelines of the occasion, the President is also expected to hold talks on bilateral relations, developments in Yemen and the region, and ways to build on Djibouti’s active role in strengthening regional security and supporting peace efforts in the Horn of Africa region.

The source praised the deeply rooted Yemeni-Djiboutian relations, strengthened by geography, history, and shared interests, as well as their promising prospects across various fields.

The source also commended the care and facilities provided by the Djiboutian government to the Yemeni community. It praised Djibouti’s role as a vital humanitarian gateway for Yemenis, particularly under the exceptional circumstances imposed by the war ignited by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias.
