President Al-Alimi Stresses Mobilizing All Capacities to Advance Abyan Governorate

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met on Monday with the Governor of Abyan, Dr. Mokhtar Al-Rubash. During the meeting the President reviewed with the Governor the situation in the governorate and the efforts of the local authority to strengthen security and stability, reinforce institutional discipline, and respond to citizens’ service and development needs.

The President was briefed by the Abyan Governor on the performance of the local authority during the past period across various levels. He was also informed about approved plans to ensure the sustainability of services, develop local resources, and enhance coordination with security and military agencies to maintain security, stability, and public tranquility.

President Al-Alimi commended the efforts of the local authority in normalizing security conditions, securing public roads, ensuring the free movement of goods and people, and halting illegal levies. He underscored the importance of close coordination with the state leadership and government to combat corruption, improve and regulate revenues, enhance spending efficiency, and direct resources toward priority service sectors.

The President stressed the importance of improving public services as a cornerstone for gaining public satisfaction and restoring trust in the state, while making optimal use of Abyan’s investment potential and mobilizing all capacities to advance the governorate.

He also emphasized the need to maintain high levels of vigilance, readiness, and coordination between the local authority and the security and military institutions. He noted that Abyan is one of the key frontline areas with the Houthi terrorist militias and a vital support line for several fronts.

President Al-Alimi reiterated the importance of safeguarding the gains achieved in recent periods, particularly in terms of unified fronts and consolidated security and military decision-making. He praised the new phase of partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, describing it as a foremost achievement that must be handled with responsibility and sincerity.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
