President Al-Alimi: Restoring State Institutions Begins with Stability in Liberated Governorates

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met on Thursday with Mr. Murad Al-Halimi, Lahj Governor, to review the situation in the governorate and assess the level of executive performance across service, economic, and security sectors.
During the meeting, the President was briefed by the Lahj governor on the performance of the local authority over the past period, including progress made in restoring institutional discipline and responding to citizens’ needs. The briefing also covered plans and measures adopted to ensure the sustainability of services, develop local resources, and enhance coordination between security and military agencies to maintain security, stability, and public tranquility.
President Al-Alimi commended the efforts of the local leadership in Lahj to normalize conditions and improve basic services for citizens. He stressed the importance of close cooperation with the state leadership and government to combat corruption, improve revenue collection, enhance spending efficiency, and direct resources toward key priorities.
The President also underscored the need to improve the local investment climate, protect state lands and properties, strengthen security and stability, and ensure the smooth movement of goods and individuals between governorates without obstacles.
He praised the high level of vigilance, readiness, and coordination between the local authority and the security and military institutions, noting Lahj’s strategic importance as a key frontline area bordering Houthi militias and a major support line for several fronts. He affirmed that the battle to restore state institutions begins with consolidating stability in liberated areas.
President Al-Alimi further emphasized the importance of safeguarding the achievements made in unifying fronts and consolidating security and military decision-making. He described the new phase of partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as one of the foremost gains that must be handled with a high sense of responsibility and advanced across all levels.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Director of the Office of the Presidency.
