President Al-Alimi: Signs of Imminent Victory Loom on Horizon, Saudi Partnership a Safe Haven for the Entire Region
Aden
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, called on the Yemeni people to consolidate the spirit of tolerance and reconciliation. He called on them to place the interests of the country above all else, at a pivotal moment in the history of the country and its people, as signs of deliverance emerge more clearly than ever before.
In an address to the nation on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, delivered on his behalf by Sheikh Turki Al-Wadi’i, the Minister of Endowments and Guidance, the President said that Yemen’s long-standing history teaches that victory is not achieved by arms alone. But also by hearts that embrace tolerance, minds that engage in dialogue, and wills that prioritize the homeland and its people above all considerations.
The President extended his congratulations, on his own behalf and on behalf of his fellow members of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, to the Yemeni people at home and abroad, as well as to the heroes of the armed forces and security services, on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. He prayed to Almighty Allah to return the occasion upon the homeland with the clouds of war having lifted, and with the people having restored their state institutions, security, and stability.
On the occasion, the President also commemorated the anniversary of the liberation of the interim capital, stating: “On days like these, heroic resistance fighters achieved victory in Aden, defending a city that remains a symbol of freedom and a testament to our nation’s resilience against the Imamate project backed by the Iranian regime.”
He added, “We are also approaching the fourth anniversary of the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council, that moment when Yemenis chose the path of national partnership over division.” He noted that “after years of experience and work, the Council has become more cohesive and harmonious, with a clearer understanding of the nature and requirements of the current phase.”
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed that the formation of the new government—bringing together experience, competence, and broad national representation—reflects “our belief that building a modern state can only be achieved through the participation of all its people.”
He pointed out that experience has proven that alleviating suffering and building a different model is not impossible when national will is present, political consensus is strengthened, and regional and international partnerships are clear and effective in achieving stability and improving citizens’ living conditions.
In this context, the President praised the stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which he said has consistently proven to be the most loyal supporter and steadfast ally of Yemen and its people at all levels. He noted that “while destructive projects in the region continue to invest in chaos, militias, and weapons outside the framework of the state, the Kingdom is pursuing a different approach based on supporting nation-states, stability, development, and peace.”
He added, “Here, the contrast is clearly evident between a project that builds states and one that destroys them—between a project of peace and one of chaos.”
The President reiterated that the Yemeni-Saudi partnership is not merely a relationship between two neighboring countries, but a partnership of destiny, mutual security and stability, and a safe haven for the entire region.
Addressing citizens in areas under militia control, the President affirmed that the future belongs to a just state in which all are equal. He stressed that signs of victory are closer than ever thanks to the resilience and sacrifices of the Yemeni people.
At the regional and international levels, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council renewed the Republic of Yemen’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council states, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in confronting attacks by the Iranian regime targeting their security and stability.
He expressed deep appreciation for the high level of readiness and vigilance demonstrated by these brotherly countries in safeguarding their national security and deterring threats against their peoples, sovereignty, and national resources.
The President said it was both surprising and condemnable that the Iranian regime, instead of reconsidering its destabilizing policies, continues to expand the scope of conflict by directing aggressive attacks against its neighbors. This behavior reflected its persistence in exporting crises and perpetuating instability in the region.
He stressed that the stability sought by the region’s peoples can only be achieved by deterring destructive projects and respecting state sovereignty. He added that this also requires adherence to the principles of good neighborliness and halting interventions that fuel conflicts and undermine prospects for peace.
