PLC Continues Discussion on National Developments, Reaffirms Commitment to Comprehensive Stabilization

The Presidential Leadership Council continued its meetings today, Thursday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi. It was attended by Council Members: Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Othman Mujali.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the country and the decisions and changes required to improve government performance. This was done in light of recent developments and the outcomes of measures taken to stabilize the situation, enhance security, and unify security and military decision-making in the liberated governorates.
During the meeting, the Council reiterated its full recognition of the legitimate demands of the people of the southern governorates. The Council emphasized that their fair and comprehensive resolution represents a steadfast national priority, in accordance with agreed-upon frameworks, ensuring genuine partnership and safeguarding the sacrifices and national struggles of its people throughout various stages.
The Presidential Leadership Council also reaffirmed the importance of seizing the opportunity represented by the ongoing political track under the sponsorship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It considered it a key guarantor for any comprehensive settlement, enhancing national unity, preventing the country from descending into new cycles of violence, and laying the foundations for a promising era of national partnership and sustainable development.
The Council praised the historic fraternal role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister. It appreciated the Kingdom’s continued political, economic, and humanitarian support for Yemen and its people, most recently through the announcement of an urgent financial aid of USD 90 million to support the Central Bank of Yemen, ensuring the regular payment of salaries for civil and military sectors, and alleviating the living burdens on citizens.
The Council reviewed governmental and security reports on measures taken to stabilize the situation, extend state authority, and unify military and security institutions. These measures aim to enhance public trust, preserve civil peace, and confirm the state’s commitment to fulfilling its essential responsibilities toward citizens.
The Presidential Leadership Council stressed that the upcoming phase represents a real opportunity to open a new horizon for stability and improve essential public services, primarily electricity, water, health, and education, while ensuring a decent standard of living for citizens. It called on all Yemenis to rally around the state-building project and look toward the future with a spirit of partnership and national responsibility.
During the meeting, the Council discussed the resignation of Prime Minister Salem Saleh Bin Bureik. The Council approved it, and endorsed the appointment of a new Prime Minister tasked with forming the new government.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Presidency Office.
