A responsible source at the Office of the Presidency stated that His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, has closely followed the recent circulation of statements and remarks issued by a number of ministers and executive officials within the government.

The source explained that these statements included political stances that fall outside the scope of their functional duties and are inconsistent with the constitutional and legal references governing the transitional phase and the functioning of state institutions.

The source said that the President has directed the government and the relevant authorities to take all legal and administrative measures against any violations that undermine the unity of decision-making or seek to impose policies outside the constitutional framework and the references of the transitional phase.

He also instructed that all necessary measures be employed to protect the legal status of the state, preserve the unity of its institutions, and ensure that citizens’ interests are not harmed.

The source added that the presidential directives require strict adherence by all executive officials within the government to the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government program, and the references of the transitional phase, foremost among them the Declaration on the Transfer of Power and the Riyadh Agreement.

The source further noted that the legitimate political leadership, recognized nationally, regionally, and internationally, represented by the Presidential Leadership Council, is the sole authority empowered to determine the state’s supreme political stances. Accordingly, the abuse of power or the use of official capacity or position to achieve political gains constitutes a grave violation of the Constitution, the law, and the duties of public office. Such practices harm the legal status of the state and the unity of the executive authority, undermine civil peace and the existing national consensus, and therefore require legal accountability and appropriate punitive measures against those responsible.

In this context, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council called on partners within the Southern Transitional Council to give precedence to wisdom and the language of dialogue.

He stressed the importance of sparing the Yemeni people, the country’s supreme interests, and regional and international security from unprecedented threats.

He also urged against squandering the gains achieved over recent years with the support of brothers in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, most notably the gains related to the just Southern cause.

The President also urged all political components and the Yemeni people to rally around the project of the aspired national state. He called for the mobilization of all energies toward the battle to restore state institutions, overthrow the coup by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias, and bring an end to the prolonged humanitarian suffering.
