His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, held a telephone call with Mr. Salem Al-Khanbashi, Governor of Hadhramaut to review the security and living conditions in the governorate and the performance of local authorities in light of recent developments.

During the call, President Al-Alimi was briefed by the governor on the latest developments in Hadhramaut and the level of progress achieved in ongoing efforts to restore normalcy, with the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The President reaffirmed the state’s full support for the leadership of the local authority in Hadhramaut and its empowerment to carry out its duties in safeguarding public interests and strengthening the presence of state institutions. He emphasized that this approach aims to ensure the consolidation of security and stability and the protection of public tranquility in the governorate.

He underscored Hadhramaut’s central role in the national equation, describing it as a cornerstone of the recovery plan and national stability, and a model of coexistence and social peace. He stressed the state’s commitment to protecting the governorate’s security and stability, safeguarding the interests of its citizens, preserving its particularities, and maintaining the unity of its social fabric.

President Al-Alimi reiterated the state’s rejection of any measures taken outside the exclusive authorities stipulated by the Constitution and the law, as well as the references of the transitional phase—foremost among them the Declaration of Transfer of Power and the Riyadh Agreement.

In this context, the President praised the fraternal efforts undertaken by the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, to restore normal conditions in the eastern governorates to their previous state. He commended their continued commitment to safeguarding existing consensus and avoiding any repercussions that could harm the interests of the Yemeni people or exacerbate the humanitarian situation.

The President renewed his emphasis on previous directives calling for the documentation of all human rights violations accompanying unilateral measures in Hadhramaut and the opening of a comprehensive investigation into those violations. He also stressed the need to assist affected citizens, ensure accountability, and prevent perpetrators from escaping punishment.

He also highly commended the awareness and wisdom of the people of Hadhramaut and their well-known positions in prioritizing the public interest, rallying around the leadership of the local authority, and thwarting attempts by groups and militias seeking to undermine the governorate’s security and stability. He affirmed that Hadhramaut will remain a driving force for the state, development, and the supremacy of law and order.
