His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Sunday, Ms. Catherine Corm Kammoun, Ambassador of the French Republic, and Ms. Abda Sharif, Ambassador of the United Kingdom. He also met with Mr. Jonathan Pecchia, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, to discuss the latest local developments, particularly the situation in the eastern governorates.

During the meeting, His Excellency renewed his high appreciation for the steadfast stances of the three countries in support of the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership, as well as their continuous support to the Leadership Council, the government, ongoing economic reforms, and the legal status of the state.

The President briefed the diplomats on the efforts underway to contain the unilateral escalation in the eastern governorates, including the good offices led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reach a de-escalation agreement in Hadhramawt. He affirmed the state’s full support for these efforts, in coordination with local authorities, aimed at creating conditions conducive to normalizing the situation and protecting sovereign facilities to ensure the delivery of essential services to citizens.

His Excellency reiterated the absolute rejection of any unilateral measures that would undermine the state’s legal status, harm the public interest, or create a parallel authority outside the framework of national references, foremost among them the Transfer of Power Declaration and the Riyadh Agreement.

He also stressed the importance of withdrawing any forces that were brought in from outside the eastern governorates, in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the references governing the transitional phase. He emphasized the need to enable local authorities to fully perform their duties in maintaining security and stability in accordance with the law.

The President pointed out that the unilateral military movements witnessed in the eastern governorates constitute a direct challenge to de-escalation efforts and threaten the gains achieved in economic reforms, currency stability, regular salary payments, and the improvement of basic services. He noted that these actions come at a time when the government, with support from regional brothers and international partners, is making significant efforts to strengthen donor confidence and alleviate the suffering of citizens.

The meeting also discussed the serious human rights violations accompanying the unilateral actions in the districts of Al-Wadi and Al-Sahra’. His Excellency affirmed that state authorities are working to document these violations and ensure the protection of civilians, as these are fundamental principles that cannot be compromised.

The President of the Leadership Council emphasized that the primary battle for Yemenis—under all circumstances—remains the completion of state institution restoration, ending the coup of the Houthi militia supported by the Iranian regime, and countering terrorist organizations that cooperate with Houthis. He warned that any internal side conflicts would only serve this cross-border threat.

His Excellency expressed confidence in the wisdom and capability of national components, as well as the efforts of the brothers in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, to confront all challenges and remain focused on the decisive battle of the Yemeni people and their aspirations for security, stability, and peace.

For their part, the Ambassadors of France and the United Kingdom, along with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, reaffirmed their full commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and Yemen’s unity, stability, and territorial integrity.

They also stressed the importance of maintaining the unity of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government’s fulfillment of its obligations to regional and international partners in order to ensure continued support at all levels.

The meeting was attended by Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, Director of the President’s office.
