President Al-Alimi Praises UAE Support for Yemen’s Electricity Sector

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Wednesday, at Al-Ma’ashiq Palace in the interim capital, Aden, Mr. Mohammed Hamad Al-Za’abi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Yemen.
During the meeting, the UAE ambassador conveyed to the President of the Council and its members the greetings of his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, along with his wishes for President Al-Alimi’s continued health and happiness, and for the Yemeni people’s security, stability, and peace.
In turn, President Al-Alimi asked Ambassador Al-Zaabi to convey his own greetings, along with those of the Council members and the government, to the UAE leadership, expressing his best wishes for further progress and prosperity for the government and people of the UAE under its wise leadership.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates informed His Excellency the President of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to allocate $1 billion to support electricity and energy projects in Yemen.
President of the presidential leadership council renewed his appreciation for the UAE’s active role in supporting the Council, the government, and the Yemeni people, including its economic, humanitarian, and development interventions across various fields.
The President highly valued the generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed to fund electricity projects in several governorates, noting that this support will help address the worsening crisis in the sector and improve living conditions and essential services for citizens.
The meeting also touched on bilateral relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, as well as prospects for enhancing and developing these ties at all levels. Discussions further addressed national developments and the regional and international support required to reinforce progress in economic and financial reforms and to alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, the President’s Advisor for Defense and Security Affairs, and Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, the Director of the President’s Office.
