Presidential Council Reaffirms Full Support for Comprehensive Reforms and Commends High Readiness of Armed Forces and Security Units

The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting today, Tuesday, chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council, with the attendance of Council members Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and via video conference Aiderous Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Aradah, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, and Faraj Al-Bahsani. Council members Tariq Saleh and Othman Mujalli were absent with excuse.

The meeting, attended by Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Buraik and Minister of Defense Lt. Gen. Mohsen Al-Daari, was dedicated to reviewing developments in economic, service-related, military, and security conditions. The meeting focused also on the progress of comprehensive reforms and efforts to mobilize and coordinate national capacities to ensure the state’s essential obligations toward citizens and the requirements of the national battle.

At the outset, the Council congratulated the Yemeni people at home and abroad on the 58th anniversary of the glorious Independence Day, expressing hopes that the occasion will return as the nation achieves its aspirations for peace, development, security, and stability.

The Council listened to an updated briefing from the Prime Minister on progress made in economic and financial reforms, including the level of implementation of Council Resolution No. (11) of 2025. The resolution which obligates the government to unify all revenues and deposit them into the Central Bank’s general account, prohibit off-channel collections, and ensure compliance by relevant authorities at both central and local levels.

The Presidential Leadership Council renewed its full support for the government’s comprehensive reform efforts, adherence to transparency and accountability standards, and anti-corruption measures. It noted the tangible improvement in the national currency and prices of essential goods, stressing the importance of further strengthening these gains as a key step toward improving living conditions and reinforcing confidence with the donor community.

The Council also reiterated its deep appreciation for the continued fraternal support for the recovery plan and reform program provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, including their development and humanitarian interventions across various sectors.

Additionally, the Council received a report from the Minister of Defense, Chairman of the Higher Security Committee, on the operational situation and the readiness of the armed forces and security units across various fronts. The report highlighted the apprehension of several terrorist cells linked to the Houthi militia and cooperating extremist organizations, as well as the foiling of their sabotage plots in a number of governorates.

The Presidential Leadership Council expressed profound pride and appreciation for the sacrifices of the armed forces, security personnel, and all military formations in defending national dignity and the republican system. It commended their high combat readiness in deterring threats posed by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia and associated criminal networks.
