President Al-Alimi Receives Credentials of Russian Federation Ambassador

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Thursday, at Al-Ma’asheeq Palace in the interim capital Aden, the credentials of Mr. Evgeny A.Kudrov, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Yemen. 

After the ceremony, the President met the Russian Ambassador Mr. Kudrov who conveyed the greetings of President Vladimir Putin, along with his wishes for good health to President Al-Alimi and stability and peace for the Yemeni people.

President Al-Alimi welcomed the Ambassador and asked him to convey the president’s greetings to President Putin. He also wished Russia and its friendly people continued progress and prosperity.

The President affirmed that all necessary support and facilitation will be provided to the Ambassador to carry out his diplomatic duties and to strengthen the long-standing relations between the two friendly countries. He stressed the mutual commitment to expand cooperation and productive coordination in various fields.

President Al-Alimi praised Russia’s consistent stance in all international forums in support of the Yemeni people, their constitutional legitimacy, and national institutions.

The meeting reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation and the promising opportunities for expanding them, in light of the President’s successful visit to Moscow last May.

The President also briefed the Ambassador on the latest domestic developments and on the government’s comprehensive reform efforts aimed at easing the impacts of the devastating war ignited by the Iran-backed Houthi militia and its attacks on shipping lanes and commercial vessels.

His Excellency renewed the commitment of the Council and the government to a comprehensive and sustainable peace, in line with nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed references, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2216.

The ceremony and the meeting were attended by Dr. Shayea Al-Zindani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Lt. Gen. Saleh Al-Maqalih, Director of the Presidential Office, and Mr. Mohammed Haj Mahfouz, Chief of Protocol.
