President of Leadership Council Returns to Interim Capital Aden

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, returned to the interim capital, Aden, accompanied by Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Council member, Mr. Salem Saleh bin Buraik, Prime Minister and Mr. Ahmed Ghaleb, Governor of the Central Bank.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the President praised the tangible progress in economic and financial reforms. He also commended government measures aimed at sustaining financial and monetary stability. He noted the implementation of the Council’s decisions and recommendations to correct existing imbalances in public revenue collection and ensure the state’s access to all sovereign resources. He stressed the government’s commitment to meeting essential obligations.
His Excellency affirmed that the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Central Bank will continue on this path. He said they are working as one team, with institutional harmony, and mobilizing all capacities to support the national effort to restore state institutions and end the suffering caused by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
He reiterated the Council’s confidence in the government and relevant state institutions to overcome current challenges and turn them into opportunities for greater self-reliance. This includes ensuring the regular payment of salaries and the continuity of basic services.
The President expressed, on behalf of the Council and the government, high appreciation for the continued support of the recovery plan and the reform program from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He acknowledged their development and humanitarian contributions across various sectors.
A source at the Office of the Presidency said the President will continue working with Council members to support the government and the Central Bank in completing the comprehensive reform matrix. He added that these efforts aim to build on progress made in strengthening trust with the donor community.
The source confirmed that the President will hold meetings with the government, relevant authorities, and several international partners. These meetings will focus on sharing plans and policies related to combating corruption, normalizing conditions in several governorates, and building regional and international partnerships to enhance national capacity to deter cross-border threats and restore security, stability, and peace in Yemen and the region.
