His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, departed today, Saturday, from the interim capital Aden to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The President, along with members of the Council, will lead consultations with regional and international partners regarding national and regional developments, as well as the international support required for the Economic Recovery Plan and responses to current challenges on various fronts.

A source in the Presidential Office told the Yemen News Agency (Saba) that the meetings will focus on key priorities of the current stage. These include strengthening national cohesiveness and advancing economic, monetary, and service sector reforms. The meetings will also focus on implementing essential humanitarian and development interventions to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and set the country on a path toward stability, development, and peace.

Discussions will also address counterterrorism efforts and the fight against arms smuggling networks, particularly amid growing signs of cooperation between terrorist organizations and the Iran-backed Houthi militias.

The source reaffirmed the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to intensify efforts to fulfill the state’s essential obligations, foremost among them ensuring the regular payment of public sector salaries and resolving recurring shortages in water and electricity supplies.

The source also praised the recent steps taken by international organizations to relocate their offices to the interim capital, Aden. This move, he said, enhances the safety of aid workers, strengthens the legal standing of the state, reinforces humanitarian operations, and increases the isolation of the Houthi militias while deterring their grave human rights violations.

The source further expressed appreciation for the sincere and continued support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to the Yemeni people and their political leadership, as they work to restore state institutions, reaffirm Yemen’s Arab identity, and ensure its active role within the international community.
