President Al-Alimi Reaffirms Commitment to National Partnership and Confidence in Victory
Aden
His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, reaffirmed the Council’s and the Government’s unwavering commitment to the principle of national partnership as a cornerstone for realizing the aspirations of the Yemeni people. Foremost among these are restoring state institutions, ending the coup of the Iran-backed Houthi militia, and establishing the foundations of justice and equal citizenship.
In a national address on the eve of the 62nd anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution, President Al-Alimi stated that the legacy of this historic revolution remains a living force in the consciousness of generations, embodying the Yemeni people’s struggle for freedom and independence. He emphasized the role of Aden as the nation’s capital, a source of enlightenment, and a stronghold of resistance to tyranny.
The President noted that the October 14 Revolution was not a transient event, but a rebirth of the proud Yemeni nation—a cry of defiance against oppression and a culmination of sincere struggles against despotism and colonialism across both the North and South of Yemen.
President Al-Alimi stressed the importance of the Southern issue in any comprehensive political settlement, affirming that justice, equality, transparency, and clarity are the best paths to strengthen resilience, safeguard state sovereignty, and achieve lasting peace, security, and development.
He highlighted the South’s unique post-independence experience in building a modern civil state through progressive legal and social systems, pioneering women’s empowerment, and establishing Yemen’s first television station and sports club as symbols of knowledge and creative youth participation.
The President confirmed the government’s continued implementation of comprehensive reforms in coordination with the Central Bank, which have led to noticeable improvements in the national currency and basic commodity prices. He announced the commencement of salary payments for civil and military employees, the scheduling of salary payments, and the inclusion of dues for diplomatic missions and Yemeni students abroad.
President Al-Alimi, on behalf of himself and the Council members, expressed deep appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He commended their sincere and brotherly support for the Yemeni people and their generous assistance across multiple sectors. He also praised their constructive efforts to promote peace in Yemen and the wider region.
He also congratulated the brotherly Palestinian people on the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. He praised the mediation efforts led by Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Qatar, along with other Arab partners and international stakeholders. He particularly noted the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in achieving this historic milestone. The President described the agreement as a step toward a just peace and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
President Al-Alimi affirmed his full confidence in the armed and security forces and all military formations to continue their sacred national duties. He also expressed his faith in the youth and women of Yemen to carry forward the torch of change and build a country worthy of all its people.
