
President Al-Alimi Reaffirms National Cohesion to Overthrow Coup and End Humanitarian Suffering

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Saturday, with the Presidency of the Shura Council, headed by Dr. Ahmed Obaid Bin Dagher, and its members Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Abu Al-Ghaith and Eng. Wahi Taha Aman.
During the meeting, the President briefed the Shura Council leadership on the latest developments at various levels, the course of the comprehensive reform process, and the government’s efforts to implement the economic recovery plan, strengthen the national currency, and improve living conditions.
President Al-Alimi affirmed the Council’s determination to move forward with reforms in coordination with regional and international partners, considering them the foundation of state legitimacy and a guarantee for the continued flow of international assistance.
He highlighted the progress achieved so far, particularly in price reforms and enhancing the independence of the Central Bank, while stressing the need for further measures in improving revenues, governance, transparency, and accountability.
The President also underscored the role of the Shura Council and all state institutions in safeguarding existing consensus and building confidence among national components opposed to the Houthi project backed by the Iranian regime.
In this context, President Al-Alimi expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates—leadership and governments—for their pivotal role in supporting national consensus and their constant commitment to the cohesion of the republican front in service of the Yemeni people, their progress, and stability.
He further valued the Saudi and Emirati support on the economic, developmental, and humanitarian fronts, which has served as a safety net for the state during these exceptional circumstances in Yemen’s history.
For their part, the Chairman and members of the Shura Council Presidency renewed their full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government. They also reaffirmed their support for strengthening national consensus toward the battle to restore state institutions and end the coup of the Iran-backed Houthi militias.
The meeting was attended by Maj. Gen. Saleh Al-Maqaleh, Director of the Office of the President of the Leadership Council.
