
Presidential Leadership Council Continues Discussions on Local and Regional Developments

The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting today, Friday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council, with the participation of its members Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Othman Mujalli. Council member Faraj Al-Bahsani was excused for his absence.
The meeting was dedicated to reviewing local and regional developments at all levels, foremost of which were the economic, service, and humanitarian conditions. The Council also addressed the course of comprehensive reforms and the progress achieved in implementing the economic recovery plan, strengthening the national currency, and the resulting positive impact on the prices of essential goods and services.
The Council listened to a briefing from the President on the outcomes of his recent regional and international engagements aimed at aligning policies, visions, and coordinating joint responses to current challenges.
Council members also provided brief updates on their assigned duties, in addition to reports on the work of the Committee on Sovereign and Local Revenues, and ongoing efforts to stabilize the situation in Hadhramout in line with the Council’s resolutions and recommendations in this regard.
The reports presented performance indicators of the national economy, along with coordinated government efforts with the Central Bank and relevant institutions to advance financial and monetary reforms. They also highlighted measures to ensure the State’s fulfillment of its essential obligations, including the regular payment of public sector salaries, the sustainability of basic services, the provision of fuel supplies to operate power stations, and the continued implementation of the comprehensive reform matrix.
The Presidential Leadership Council reaffirmed its support for the course of comprehensive reforms backed by regional and international partners. The Council praised in this regard the stances of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and their valued interventions across various sectors in support of the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership.
The Council also commended the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom in hosting and sponsoring the recent Yemen Maritime Security Conference, held in Riyadh, and the outcomes and commitments reached in support of strengthening the capacities of the Yemeni Coast Guard to help safeguard international navigation.
Earlier, the Council reviewed and approved the minutes of its previous meeting and conducted a brief follow-up on its coordinated recommendations with the relevant authorities.
