President of Leadership Council Arrives in Doha to Participate in Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit
Doha
His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, accompanied by Council member Sheikh Sultan Al-Aradah, arrived today, Monday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, to participate in the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit. The Summit is scheduled to commence today, Monday, to discuss the repercussions of the treacherous Israeli attack on Doha and to formulate a unified stance regarding the blatant violations of international law and the sovereignty of the region’s states.
At Hamad International Airport, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the accompanying Council member were received by Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Culture, Mr. Rajeh Badi, Yemen’s Ambassador to Qatar, and a number of officials.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the President expressed his profound appreciation to the brothers in Qatar for their warm reception and for the excellent preparations for the summit.
He described the summit as an important milestone for coordinating Arab and Islamic positions and for advancing joint action towards broader horizons.
The President stressed that this comes at a time of serious developments and challenges, foremost among them Israeli arrogance, its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people, and its escalatory policies in the region.
The President voiced hope that the summit will result in collective resolutions to deter Israeli aggression and to support the right of the Palestinian people to establish their fully sovereign, independent state.
His Excellency also reiterated the Republic of Yemen’s condemnation of the Israeli attack on Doha, considering it a violation of the sovereignty of the brotherly State of Qatar and a flagrant breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The President reaffirmed Yemen’s solidarity—leadership, government, and people—with the State of Qatar, and its support for Qatar’s sovereign right to safeguard its security and the safety of its citizens and residents.
