Aden
His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, departed today, Sunday, the interim capital Aden, accompanied by Council members Lt. Gen. Sultan Al-Aradah and Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia en route to the State of Qatar to participate in the Emergency Arab-Islamic summit, scheduled to convene tomorrow, Monday, to discuss the repercussions of the Israeli aggression against Doha.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), His Excellency reiterated the Republic of Yemen’s condemnation of the Israeli aggression, describing it as a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and a flagrant breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
He affirmed Yemen’s full solidarity with the State of Qatar and its sovereign right to safeguard its security and the safety of its citizens and residents.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed confidence that the Doha Summit will achieve its intended objectives in confronting Israeli arrogance and its threats to Arab national security, reaching collective decisions to deter the aggression, and supporting the Palestinian people’s right to establish their fully sovereign independent state.
Meanwhile, His Excellency renewed praise for the efforts of the government, the Central Bank, and law enforcement authorities, and for the progress made in economic and financial reforms, which have led to a noticeable improvement in the value of the national currency, the availability of essential goods, and enhanced independence of the Central Bank in managing monetary policy.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to fulfilling the state’s essential obligations, foremost among them the regular payment of public sector salaries, improving public services, and strengthening the legal status of the state in the interim capital Aden, in partnership with brothers and friends, which will soon yield further promising breakthroughs.
In the same context, His Excellency praised the fraternal stances of the brothers in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He also commended their humanitarian and development interventions, which have contributed to strengthening state institutions and alleviating the impact of the humanitarian crisis, compounded by the attacks of the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militias on oil facilities and commercial shipping vessels.
