President Al-Alimi Commends Judiciary’s Role in Advancing Comprehensive Reforms

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council met today, Thursday, at Al-Ma’ashiq Palace with Head of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Mohsen Yahya Talib and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Judge Dr. Ali Al-Awash, in the presence of Minister of Justice Judge Badr Al-Aradha.

The President was briefed on the recent performance of the judiciary and the cases under review across its judicial bodies. 

Discussions also covered the judiciary’s budget, measures required to ensure regular payment of salaries, and the provision of healthcare for its members, in recognition of their role in strengthening state institutions and upholding the rule of law.

Talks further addressed the judiciary’s contribution to supporting the economic and monetary recovery plan, a key component of the comprehensive reform program, and its role in promoting integrity, good governance, combating corruption, and confronting activities harmful to the national economy.

President Al-Alimi praised the achievements of the judiciary and expressed, on behalf of himself and members of the Presidential Leadership Council, appreciation for its active role in collective efforts to implement reforms, safeguard public and private rights, maintain civil peace, and reinforce the legal standing of the state in the interim capital, Aden.

His Excellency reaffirmed the Council and government’s full commitment to the independence of the judiciary, non-interference in its affairs, and facilitation of its functions and rulings in accordance with the constitution and the law, stressing that the judiciary is the source of justice and a cornerstone of good governance.
