His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, held a meeting on Tuesday with the Supreme Security Committee. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Maabqi, Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen.

The meeting included Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, the Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, Minister of Interior, Governors of the governorates of Aden (Minister of State Ahmed Lamlas), Lahj (Major General Ahmed Abdullah Al-Turki), Abyan (Major General Abubakr Hussein), Al-Dhalea (Major General Ali Muqbel Saleh), and Taiz (Nabil Shamsan), as well as members of the Supreme Security Committee. Attendees also included Major General Ahmed Al-Yafei, the Head of Military Intelligence and Reconnaissance Authority, Major General Shalal Ali Shaye, the Head of the Counter-Terrorism Unit, (Major General Ali Abdullah Al-Sharfi) and the Political Security Organization (Major General Nour Al-Din Al-Yami), Deputy Directors of the National Security Agency and Major General Abdulhakim Shaif, the Committee’s Rapporteur.

The meeting was dedicated to discussing developments in the local, security, and economic situations, supporting efforts to enhance security and stability in the interim capital Aden and the liberated governorates, and reviewing approved measures to confront terrorist threats, combat terrorism, smuggling, and organized crime, as well as track down and bring wanted individuals to justice.

The Central Bank Governor provided a briefing on the economic situation, focusing on fluctuations in exchange rates and the necessary decisions to strengthen and support the Central Bank’s efforts. He also highlighted the bank’s plans to manage monetary policy, protect the national currency, deter speculators, and curb practices harmful to the national economy.

Further briefings were given by the Ministers of Defense and Interior, local authority leaders, and heads of relevant agencies on public affairs, the military and security landscape, and counter-terrorism achievements — including the capture of multiple cells linked to the Houthi militias and allied terrorist organizations, and the thwarting of their sabotage plans in several liberated governorates.

The meeting reviewed proposed decisions for tracking and dismantling terrorist cells in coordination with the relevant agencies and local communities, as well as enhancing Yemen’s position as a reliable partner in regional and international efforts to counter cross-border threats.

The meeting praised the outcomes of joint military and security campaigns that resulted in the arrest of numerous terrorists involved in killings, sabotage, attacks on public and private property, obstruction of oil and gas supplies, and resistance to law enforcement — particularly in the interim capital Aden and the governorates of Taiz, Lahj, Al-Dhalea, and Abyan.

A briefing was also presented on the military situation across the operational area, in light of the Presidential Leadership Council’s decision on front-line unity and combat readiness for any escalation scenarios. The meeting also covered the level of coordination among various security and intelligence agencies to ensure a comprehensive deterrent to emerging threats.

In his remarks, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces praised the successes of the armed forces and security units, including all military and security formations, in combating terrorism, smuggling, and organized crime, and their central role in promoting security and stability in Aden and the liberated governorates.

He emphasized the Supreme Security Committee’s role in improving security and military decision-making and coordinating closely with relevant entities to uncover and thwart terrorist plots, and to combat money laundering, arms smuggling, and drug trafficking.

President Al-Alimi also commended the significant achievements made by the security committee in Taiz — led by the local authority, armed forces, and police — which exposed sabotage plans by the Houthi militias targeting liberated governorates, especially those within the Fourth Military Region’s operational area.

His Excellency urged the military, security forces, and intelligence services to intensify security precautions, including monitoring sleeper cells affiliated with the Houthi militias and allied terrorist groups, and ensuring adequate protection for national and international organizations in Aden, enabling them to carry out their missions effectively.

The meeting was attended by Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, Director of the Presidential Office, Brigadier General Abubakr Al-Jabouli, Commander of the 4th Mountain Infantry Brigade, Major General Mutahar Al-Shuaibi, Aden’s Police Chief, and Brigadier General Ali Nasser Baazeb, Abyan’s Police Chief.
