His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, performed the blessed Eid al-Adha prayer this Friday along with senior state officials and large crowds of citizens in the interim capital, Aden.

The President attended the Eid sermon alongside Prime Minister, Salem Saleh bin Bureik, President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Mohsen Yahya Talib, several advisors to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, and members of the Parliament, Cabinet, Shura Council, governors, and top civilian, military, and security leaders.

The Eid sermon, delivered by Sheikh Ali Mahfouz, highlighted the virtues of Eid al-Adha as one of the greatest days for Muslims due to its close association with Hajj—one of the pillars of Islam. He emphasized the occasion as a day of Muslim unity, joy, sacrifice, giving, and compassion—especially vital amid the difficult living conditions and humanitarian catastrophe caused by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

The preacher stressed the importance of solidarity, avoiding division, reconciling differences, and rallying around the goal of restoring the usurped state institutions and overthrowing the Houthi coup.

The sermon also addressed the serious challenges facing the Muslim Ummah, particularly the expansionist Iranian project and its terrorist militias in Yemen and the region, which have brought wars, destruction, and suffering to the Yemeni people, devastating their land, sea, and air infrastructure.

The preacher urged the country’s leadership to act as a unified team, ease citizens’ hardships, and provide essential services, considering these steps as the path to a divinely aided victory. He prayed for the success of President Al-Alimi and the Leadership Council members and asked God to grant them righteous advisors who will guide them toward the good of the nation and its people.

He also congratulated Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Bureik on gaining the trust of the political leadership, wishing him and his cabinet success in fulfilling their heavy national responsibilities.

The preacher commended the roles of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in supporting Yemen and alleviating the suffering caused by Houthi attacks on oil facilities and international shipping lanes, backed by the Iranian regime.

Following the prayer, President Al-Alimi received a large number of well-wishers at Al-Ma’ashiq Palace, including citizens, senior state officials, military and security leaders, women, and community figures. He exchanged congratulations and best wishes for Eid, expressing hopes that the blessed occasion brings goodness, peace, security, and stability to Yemen and all Muslim countries, and asking God to protect all peoples from harm and misfortune.
