President Al-Alimi Concludes Fruitful Visit to the Russian Federation

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, concluded today, Thursday, a fruitful three-day visit to the Russian Federation. During the visit, he held high-level bilateral discussions with His Excellency President Vladimir Putin, senior officials of the State Duma, and members of the Russian government, alongside meetings with political, diplomatic, and intellectual figures engaged with Yemeni affairs.

The discussions between the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Russian leadership focused on bilateral cooperation programs, the longstanding relations between the two friendly nations, and the alignment of positions and perspectives on various issues of mutual interest.

The talks also addressed Russia's expected  support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, as well as efforts to restore state institutions and achieve peace and stability in Yemen.

Upon his departure from Moscow, President Al-Alimi expressed—in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba)—his profound gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency President Vladimir Putin, the Russian government, and the friendly Russian people for their warm reception and generous hospitality. He also conveyed his great satisfaction with the outcomes of the visit, which will pave the way for broader cooperation and enhanced coordination between the two countries across various fields.

His Excellency the President renewed commendation for Russia's steadfast stance in support of the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership, as well as its backing for Yemen's aspirations to restore state institutions, achieve security and stability, and realize peace.

He further expressed appreciation for the facilities provided to Yemeni nationals and students studying in the Russian Federation, as well as for the potential opportunities to further enhance Russian support in this domain.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council and his accompanying delegation were seen off by Mr. Sergey Vershinin, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Ahmed Salem Al-Wahishi, Yemen's Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and Mr. Yevgeny Kudrov, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian embassy to Yemen.
