President Al-Alimi Praises Dutch Development Support

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Tuesday, Ms. Jeannette Seppen, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Yemen.

The meeting addressed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the promising prospects for enhancing them at all levels.

The President expressed his deep appreciation for the support provided by the Dutch government, its steadfast positions in support of the Yemeni government and people, and its notable interventions in developmental and humanitarian fields. He emphasized the importance of scaling up this support to improve living conditions and public services.

His Excellency also discussed the repercussions of the Houthi terrorist threats on maritime shipping vessels and international peace and security, as well as their grave violations of human rights—including the continued detention and enforced disappearance of dozens of United Nations staff and personnel from international organizations, and diplomatic missions.

His Excellency the president stressed the importance of the Netherlands' active role in maintaining international unified stance alongside the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership. His Excellency also stressed the need for European countries to join the punitive measures against the terrorist Houthi militias.

His Excellency the President also listened to a briefing from the Dutch Ambassador on her recent visit to the interim capital, Aden, and the outcomes of her discussions with government officials, local authorities, and civil society representatives, regarding the priorities and future programs of Dutch support in various fields.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Director of the Presidency Office.
