President Al-Alimi Performs Eid al-Fitr Prayer in Aden with State Leaders and Citizens, Receives Well-Wishers
Aden
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, alongside senior state officials, performed Eid al-Fitr prayers today among congregations of worshippers in the interim capital, Aden.
President Al-Alimi attended the Eid sermon alongside Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, Speaker of the parliament, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, the Prime Minister, Judge Mohsen Yahya Talib, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, and Eng. Mohammed Al-Shaddadi, Deputy Speaker of Parliament. The ceremony was also attended by advisors to the President, members of parliamentary councils, cabinet ministers, Shura Council members, provincial governors, and senior officials from the civil, military, and security sectors.
In his Eid sermon, Sheikh Mukhtar Al-Rabbash, undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Guidance, elaborated on the spiritual significance of this holy celebration—an occasion divinely ordained for Muslims to rejoice, express gratitude for the blessings received, and celebrate the completion of their Ramadan fasting obligations while seeking God's mercy and redemption.
The preacher urged worshippers to embody the teachings of this holy month by fostering social unity, upholding truth, cooperating in good deeds, practicing compassion while rejecting division, reconciling differences, and strengthening family ties through kindness and kinship.
The sermon addressed critical challenges facing the Islamic nation, foremost among them Iran's destabilizing role and its terrorist militias in Yemen and the region. These groups have brought tragedy, war, destruction, and immense humanitarian suffering through their destructive practices— adversely affecting Yemen and its people by land, sea, and air. This includes their forcible seizure of parts of the beloved homeland through violence, repression, persecution, and terrorism.
The sermon paid tribute to the heroic efforts of the Armed Forces, security personnel, and all resistance fighters who steadfastly defend the nation’s faith, territory, honor, and human dignity across various battlefronts. It recalled the historic triumph achieved by Aden’s sons and its courageous resistance fighters in liberating their city from the grip of the Iranian-backed militia, accomplished with support from the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Sheikh Mukhtar expressed unwavering confidence in imminent victory, asserting that the collapse of the terrorist Houthi militia is inevitable due to the resilience of the Yemeni people and the unified Republican alignment behind restoring state institutions, ending the coup, and achieving national peace and stability.
The sermon emphasized the importance of learning from historical lessons—particularly the poverty, ignorance, hunger, and disease endured under Yemen’s defunct Imamate regime. It underscored how the terrorist Houthi militia perpetuates the worst aspects of that theocratic dynastic system, recalling the brutal crimes committed by these rulers against the Yemeni people over the past ten centuries, culminating in the contemporary atrocities committed by the Houthi militia: the deliberate targeting of civilians, indiscriminate shelling of residential areas, and attacks on sacred sites.
The preacher affirmed that these sectarian militias recognize neither covenant nor honor, warning of their characteristic deceit and systematic violations of treaties and agreements.
He called upon the state leadership to prioritize alleviating citizens' suffering and providing essential services, emphasizing that putting the public interest above personal interests is the true path to decisive victory with God's grace. He concluded by praying that Almighty God grant wisdom and success to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, his fellow Council members, and the government in their efforts toward righteousness and the welfare of the nation—guiding them towards decisions that ensure prosperity for both the country and its people.
After the Eid prayers, His Excellency the President received senior state officials, military and security leadership, women’s representatives, media figures, community leaders, and crowds of congratulating citizens, exchanging warm greetings and prayers for Almighty God to bless this sacred occasion with divine goodness, prosperity, and grace—and to extend peace, security, and stability throughout Yemen and the broader Muslim world.
