President Al-Alimi Holds Meeting with Joint Operations Authority
Aden
His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, held a meeting today, Sunday, with the Joint Operations Authority. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Da’ari, the Minister of Defense, and Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, the Chief of the General Staff, the Commander of Joint Operations.
During the meeting, the President of the Leadership Council received a briefing from the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff on the operational situation and the readiness level of forces across different fronts.
The meeting which includes representatives from all military formations, also listened to a report by Major General Saleh Talib, the Chief of the Joint Operations Authority, regarding the authority’s activities in the past period and the implementation of its assigned tasks, particularly in coordinating unit cooperation and refining intelligence to support decision-making and ensure an integrated response to challenges.
The presented reports included an overview of the situation across the operational theater in light of the Leadership Council’s decision regarding the unification of battlefronts and the combat readiness level to counter any potential escalation by the Houthi militia following its re-designation as an international terrorist organization.
Additionally, the meeting received an update on developments related to U.S. airstrikes targeting military locations of the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia.
The meeting held the Houthi militia fully responsible for this escalation, as well as for attracting international sanctions, militarizing regional waters, exacerbating humanitarian and living conditions, and worsening the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The meeting recalled the peace initiatives proposed by the Leadership Council, the government, and the brotherly countries of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by Saudi Arabia, aimed at establishing peace, ending the war, and alleviating humanitarian suffering. However, all these efforts were met with the intransigence of the Houthi terrorist militia and its destructive escalation, which has extended to eroding livelihoods, targeting oil facilities, attacking international shipping lanes, committing severe human rights violations, and attempting to keep Yemen away of its national and Arab identity.
The meeting warned the Houthi terrorist militia against any further escalation to compensate for its evident failure in deceiving public opinion. It reaffirmed the readiness of the armed forces and all military formations to firmly respond to any reckless adventures.
Furthermore, the meeting urged the Houthi terrorist militia to abandon Iran’s expansionist agenda, prioritize the interests of the Yemeni people, and choose peace in accordance with the agreed-upon national, regional, and international references, including UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
The meeting reiterated the stance of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government that the best way to achieve regional and international security is by supporting Yemeni state institutions and its armed forces as part of a comprehensive strategic partnership with the regional and international community to liberate the remaining occupied territories in Yemen and ensure global security and stability.
The meeting was attended by Major General Ahmed Al-Aqeeli, the Director of the Office of the Supreme Commander.
