President Al-Alimi Praises Morocco’s Honorable Stance in Support of Yemeni People

His Excellency President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Sunday, Mr. Mohammed Al-Shuraiki, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to Yemen.

The Moroccan diplomat conveyed to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council the greetings of his brother, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, along with his congratulations on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and his wishes for good health and well-being to him and the members of the Council, as well as peace and stability to the Yemeni people.

In return, President Al-Alimi asked Ambassador Al-Shuraiki to convey his greetings to King Mohammed VI, wishing him good health and prosperity, and extending his best wishes for the well-being and progress of the Moroccan people under his wise leadership.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and prospects for strengthening and developing them at all levels, as well as ways to coordinate positions regarding regional developments of mutual interest.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the distinguished relations between the two countries and peoples, as well as Morocco’s honorable stance in supporting the Yemeni people, their legitimate leadership, and their aspirations for stability, peace, and development. He also highlighted the resumption of meetings of the joint ministerial committee, chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries, which resulted in agreements and understandings for promising bilateral cooperation, particularly in higher education, technical fields, water resources, infrastructure, security, and meteorology.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Shuraiki reaffirmed Morocco’s steadfast position in support of the Yemeni people, their political leadership, and all efforts aimed at achieving peace in the country based on the nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed-upon references. He also expressed his aspiration for broader cooperation between the two brotherly countries, including in agriculture, fisheries, and the private sector.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shoaibi, Director of the Presidency Office.
