President Al-Alimi Arrives in Cairo to Participate in Emergency Arab Summit

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with Major General Sultan Al-Arada, the Council Member, arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Monday to participate in the extraordinary Arab Summit scheduled to commence tomorrow, Tuesday.

Upon their arrival at Cairo Airport, they were received by Mr. Mohammed Jibran, Egypt’s Minister of Labor, Mr. Khaled Mahfouz Bahah, Yemen’s Ambassador to Egypt, Dr. Ali Mousa, Yemen’s Acting Permanent Representative to the Arab League, along with several members of the Yemeni Embassy and mission.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council is set to deliver Yemen’s address at the summit and hold discussions with his fellow leaders and heads of participating delegations regarding the latest national and regional developments, as well as ways to enhance mechanisms for joint Arab action in addressing common challenges.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), President Al-Alimi expressed his deep appreciation to the Egyptian leadership, led by his brother, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for the gracious invitation to this summit, which is being held amid highly complex political and security circumstances.

His Excellency also praised the excellent preparation and organization of the summit, reaffirming Egypt’s leading role in fostering Arab solidarity, supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, and upholding their right to establish an independent and fully sovereign state.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed confidence that the Cairo Summit would contribute to achieving its desired objectives and reaching a comprehensive Arab approach to addressing current challenges, including the adoption of a comprehensive plan for the reconstruction of Gaza and strengthening the collective stance of Arab nations in safeguarding their comprehensive national security.
