PRESIDENT AL- ALIMI RECEIVE US ENVOY FOR YEMEN

His Excellency, the President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Wednesday, U.S. Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking and the American Ambassador to Yemen, Steven Fagin.
The meeting touched upon bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways of strengthening them in all fields. In addition to the required US support to boost Yemeni economy, including alleviating the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran- backed Houthi terrorist militias.
The meeting also discussed regional developments, the repercussions of the Israeli war against the Palestinian people on international peace and security, and the importance of redoubling efforts for an immediate and durable ceasefire, finding a just solution to the Palestinian issue based on international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
In this context, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council reiterated Yemen’s firm and principled position in support of the Palestinian people and their right to restore their fully independent and sovereign State.
President Al-Alimi stressed the Council and government's commitment to a comprehensive and just peace approach in Yemen, under the nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed-upon reference, especially Security Council Resolution 2216.
Furthermore, His Excellency affirmed the Council and the government’s support for the efforts led by the UN Special Envoy to revive peace process in Yemen, based on the loudable efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
